Become An Owner Of A Baseball Team, For Real

Our Baseball HavenThere’s a goup in New Haven, CT that’s gathering investments for a baseball team using the crowdsourcing model of ownership. It’s a very cool idea. Although this doesn’t have anything to do with the Mets, I thought that the readers here would find this interesting.

You can see what they’re doing at Our Baseball Haven. You can also follow them on Twitter at I met Brett Orzechowski, one of the organizers, at an event in New Haven and the idea seems very compelling. It’s been done with a soccer team in England already so this isn’t brand new.

The annual membership fee is $100.00 and you’ll be able to vote, as an owner, on the issues that impact the team. The team is going to be a professional independant or collegiate summer league team. Check it out…

Although I don’t have a degree in journalism, I love writing about the New York Mets. I’m the typical writer without access. My only accessibility to the Mets is sitting in the stands (often the upper tank) and watching on TV like most fans. I’m not a member of the media, just a fan expressing opinions.
