The Mets lost their fourth straight game and it really should have been their seventh straight loss. Omar Minaya is with the team in LA now and told reporters before the game that Jerry Manuel’s job is safe. But not everyone’s job is safe on the Mets.
Hisanori Takahashi finally came back with a good start despite the loss going 7 innings and allowing only 2 runs. He allowed 1 run in the first inning and I was thinking “Here we go again”. But he recovered nicely and only allowed 3 hits and 2 walks in the game.
The Mets offense is the problem again. They only had 5 hits and 2 walks as a team. Surprisingly, Jeff Franoeur was the player of the game going 2 for 4. He was telling reporters before the game that he would welcome a trade for more playing time.
The misery continues for Mets fans as we watch our hopes of postseason play disappear before our eyes.
