The Mets finally got something to cheer about. Dillon Gee had an incredible first Major League start going 7 strong inning and only allowing 1 run on 2 hits. He didn’t allow a hit until the sixth when Willie Harris took him deep to right. He was cruising only throwing 86 pitches through the 7 innings. It was an extremely impressive start and I’m intrigued to see more.

The Mets jumped ahead early on an Ike Davis 3-run homer in the first inning. Overall, the Mets still only had 6 hits and 2 walks as a team continuing their putrid performance offensively this season.

The Mets even up the series in Washington and play an early rubber game tomorrow at 12:35.

Although I don’t have a degree in journalism, I love writing about the New York Mets. I’m the typical writer without access. My only accessibility to the Mets is sitting in the stands (often the upper tank) and watching on TV like most fans. I’m not a member of the media, just a fan expressing opinions.
