Mets Home Stand Preview: June 4th- June 10th, 2010

MLB: Mets vs Rockies APR 14

After an exhausting 2-4 road trip, the Mets are returning to Citi Field, where they have a quite impressive 19-9 record.

Friday, June 4th: Marlins (Sanchez) vs. Mets (Dickey) 7:10 PM
Saturday, June 5th: Marlins (Robertson) vs. Mets (Niese) 4:10 PM FOX
Sunday, June 6th: Marlins (Nolasco) vs. Mets (Takahashi) 1:10 PM
Tuesday, June 8th: Padres (Richard) vs. Mets (Pelfrey) 7:10 PM
Wednesday, June 9th: Padres (Latos) vs. Mets (Santana) 7:10 PM
Thursday, June 10th: Padres (Garland) vs. Mets (Dickey) 1:10 PM

The good news: The Mets are playing all six games at home, where they have a quite impressive 19-9 mark.

The terrible news: They are a combined 2-8 against the Padres and the Marlins this year (1-6 against Florida, 1-2 against San Diego).

They’ve had more prolonged trouble against Florida, losing two of three to them in the opening series at Citi this year, and then getting swept in a four game set in Miami in the middle of May.

Predicted Mets Home Stand Record: 4-2. The Mets are avoiding Josh Johnson this time around, while the Mets have the indestructible R.A. Dickey on the mound twice on the home stand. Jon Niese back in the rotation will be a big boost. The Mets take two of three from both series.

My name's Doug Gausepohl, and I'm 20 years of age. I'm majoring in Journalism in college, hoping to transfer to a four-year institution next spring. I'm a huge Mets/baseball fan! I love sports journalism, and it's my current career path that I couldn't be happier with. I'm also an avid New Jersey Devils fan. When I'm not perched in front of a computer or television screen with something sports related on it, I'm serving tables at T.G.I. Friday's, playing rec. softball, going out to eat with friends, or working on schoolwork. It'll be bitter sweet when the Mets win a World Series in my eyes, because even though it will be absolute ecstacy, it will mean this whole journey... is over, in a way. That said, that doesn't mean I won't take that year's title and shove it in every other baseball fan's face.
