Mets Jose Reyes Injury Update

All of the Mets beat writers are reporting that Jose Reyes had another MRI today in New York that revealed significant scar tissue and inflammation behind his right knee. He left Port St. Lucie, where he was rehabbing, because of pain in his leg. The plan is for him to stay in New York for physical therapy to break up the scar tissue and reduce the inflammation.

I’m starting to doubt that we’ll see Reyes back on the field again this year. I’m sure that he’d like to be able to finish the season with the team so he can go into next year without such a bad taste in his mouth. Reyes hasn’t played since May 20 and only played in 36 games this season.

Although I don’t have a degree in journalism, I love writing about the New York Mets. I’m the typical writer without access. My only accessibility to the Mets is sitting in the stands (often the upper tank) and watching on TV like most fans. I’m not a member of the media, just a fan expressing opinions.

  1. Bad Karma. Ollie going on the DL with a bogus injury doomed the season 🙂

So many injuries. Given the talent on the field right now, I’m actually impressed that they didn’t lose more on this home stand.

I don’t remember a season ever like this one, with so many players injured. Shoot, even the back up players to the starters were hurt!

    1. Remember when Ramon Martinez was playing SS after Jose Reyes, then Alex Cora got hurt? Then Martinez got hurt. The number of injuries they’ve suffered is hard to believe. It’s a completely lost season for this team.
