MLB Network announced that they’ll be following the Phillies bullpen for a new show called “The Pen”. The show will debut on June 1st and hopefully have many episodes of them getting smoked by the Mets. Apparently, it’s going to be a reality show type of format but not following them around 24 hours a day.

MLB said that they chose to follow the Phillies because of their success last season and their diverse personalities. I’m surprised they wouldn’t have followed a team with a closer competition like the Cubs. It would be fun to see Carlos Marmol and Kevin Gregg trying to top each other’s performances.

Thanks to Awful Announcing for the lead.

About Dave Doyle

Although I don’t have a degree in journalism, I love writing about the New York Mets. I’m the typical writer without access. My only accessibility to the Mets is sitting in the stands (often the upper tank) and watching on TV like most fans. I’m not a member of the media, just a fan expressing opinions.
