Phillies “ace”, and I use that term loosely, Brett Myers is back from a three week stint in the minors and is already talking about the Mets. He’s likely to start Wednesday against John Maine. Myers told reporters as reported by

“I can’t think of a better team for me to come back against,” he said yesterday.

“I don’t like ’em,” he said. “We’re not supposed to like them. Nothing against the guys on the team – they’re our rivals. We like beating them; they like beating us.”

This season Myers is 3-9 with a 5.84 ERA in 17 starts. Between the lack of skill that he and Adam Eaton have shown this year, it caused Phils GM Pat Gillick to trade three prospects for Oakland A’s Joe Blanton last week.

Bring it on Brett!

Although I don’t have a degree in journalism, I love writing about the New York Mets. I’m the typical writer without access. My only accessibility to the Mets is sitting in the stands (often the upper tank) and watching on TV like most fans. I’m not a member of the media, just a fan expressing opinions.
