Preview: Astros at Mets April 19, 2011

Houston Astros (5-11) at New York Mets (5-11) 7:10pm

Wandy Rodriguez  (0-2 7.31) vs. Jon Niese (0-2 6.88)

TV: SNY   Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The NL Central’s last place Astros come to town playing just as poorly as the Mets have been. It’s no surprise that the Astros are up for sale just like the Mets are either. This should be a real barn burner of a series with two last place teams battling it.

After the last three seasons of pitching really well, Rodriguez is off to a terrible start. Two of his three starts this season have been awful. However, he did have one good start against the Marlins and it probably won’t be long before he gets back on track.

Niese started well against the Marlins this season but has had two consecutive awful starts against the Phillies and Rockies. He needs to get back on track tonight.

About Dave Doyle

Although I don’t have a degree in journalism, I love writing about the New York Mets. I’m the typical writer without access. My only accessibility to the Mets is sitting in the stands (often the upper tank) and watching on TV like most fans. I’m not a member of the media, just a fan expressing opinions.
