Tigers 6 – Mets 5 June 24, 2010

June 06 2010: Mets' starting pitcher Hisanori Takahashi (47) gets ready to deliver a pitch during MLB action between the New York Mets and the Florida Marlins at Citi Field in Flushing, New York. The Mets beat the Marlins 7-6.

The Mets recovered from a terrible start by Hisanori Takahashi to make a game of it tonight and almost got the sweep. Takahashi went 4 IP and gave up 6 ER. He didn’t have good control all night and wasn’t getting any close calls from the umpire either. Maybe this will open the door for John Maine or Oliver Perez to get back into the rotation at some point.

The Mets offense was pretty solid with 10 hits and 3 walks. Jesus Feliciano went 3 for 5 with 2 runs. They had the bases loaded in the seventh inning with 2 outs and down by 1 run, but David Wright struck out and Ike Davis flied out to end the rally.

The Mets take two of three from the Tigers. Not a bad series at all.
