The Mets lost the rubber game of the series behind Johan Santana. Mark Teixeira hit a third inning grand slam and that was all they would need. Santana ended up pitching 6 innings and giving up the 4 runs but he gave up 8 hits and a walk. So there were runners on frequently. It looked like Santana was laboring to get outs.

The offense just couldn’t get anything going against Sabathia today. They only had 4 hits and 2 walks. No player had more than 1 hit in the game.

The Mets drop 2 of 3 to even the season series with the Yankees 3-3 and finish a highly successful road trip at 7-2.

Although I don’t have a degree in journalism, I love writing about the New York Mets. I’m the typical writer without access. My only accessibility to the Mets is sitting in the stands (often the upper tank) and watching on TV like most fans. I’m not a member of the media, just a fan expressing opinions.
